Restaurant Menu Development
Your menu is the cornerstone of your operation. Let’s take it from mediocre to magnificent.
Whether you are a pub, a quick-service burger joint or a fine-dining establishment, the difference between an OK menu and an outstanding menu is paramount.
Menu development involves establishing an underlying structure and strategically curating offerings, then developing and costing recipes and executing tasting sessions. We work with you to ensure that your menu ideology aligns with your concept and brand, is efficient and profitable to execute, and maximizes the value proposition for the guest.
Here are just some of the benefits of our menu development services:
Strengthen Your Offerings
Our on-staff Chefs work alongside your team to test and develop a 10 out of 10 menu, ensuring that it fits with the brand and the guest’s value proposition is maximized. Your menu is at the core of your operation and one of the most important customer touchpoints - we can help you knock it out of the park.
Streamline Kitchen Operations
Rather than having an endless list of menu items or unnecessarily complicated recipes, we’ll help your team hone your offerings for ease of execution. This will ensure that your kitchen can run more smoothly and efficiently and help you manage inventory.
Solidify Your Concept
Once you’ve established a name, location and brand, it is essential that your menu harmoniously complements these elements. Our team’s specialty is building curated lists of offerings that appeal to guests’ needs while maintaining elements of memorable discovery.
Now is the time to level up your restaurant’s menu offerings to reach your true potential and provide guests with a 10 out of 10 experience. Submit this form to speak with one of our experts about how we can reimagine and develop your offerings to drive your value proposition.
You have questions; we have answers.
Q: How does your menu development process work?
A: For existing restaurants looking for an outstanding new menu, our menu development process follows a four-step process:
- Development of menu structure and items for review with you
- Once menu items have been finalized (in principle), develop recipes and costings
- Tasting session (or two or three depending on the size of the menu) for all new menu items either onsite or in our test kitchen
- Recipe, item and cost adjustments based on the tasting and finalized menu
- Our Chefs can then be onsite to assist with the Staff Training and launch of the new menu.
Q: Do provide training on the new menu for staff?
A: Training is a key party of our menu development and handoff process. Our Chefs will carry out onsite training of the new menu, structure, recipes, prep and more with your team to ensure ease of execution and that everyone is on the same page.
Q: Do you offer menu development as part of a larger package for restaurants?
A: While we offer menu development as a standalone service, we also build it into our Opening Handholding Package for New Openings. It is also built into our Fifteen Week Fix overhaul program
Q: How does menu development differ from menu engineering?
A: Our menu development services involve the creation of an entirely new, unique menu for a restaurant launch, or the overhaul and improvement of an existing one for an established concept. We ensure that you have a standout list of offerings that not only taste great and make sense operationally but seamlessly align with your brand and larger concept.
Menu engineering is a secondary process involving a strategic review of your menu to identify items that are popular and profitable. We work with you to help make the most of your offerings and capitalize on incremental revenues.
Q: How much of an impact will strategic menu development have on my bottom line/profitability?
A: The exact benefit is difficult to estimate but if your menu isn't the best that it can be, it will definitely substantially impact your bottom line. Keep in mind, that #1, revenues are the most important factor in your profitability and #2, your menu is one of the most important aspects of why people visit you and return again and again. If your menu is not currently a 10 out of 10, getting it to that level can add a tremendous amount to both your top line and your bottom line.
