Case Study: 1931 Gallery Bistro

1931 Gallery Bistro, Vancouver Art Gallery’s debut, pays tribute to eight decades of cultural significance and exhibits contemporary culinary innovations.

With our full opening hand holding proposal, our operations experts worked with the Vancouver Art Gallery to reimagine their existing bistro and developed a plan that was executable by their in-house team. We oversaw equipment selection, kitchen design, and construction, in addition to helping with the administrative setup of the business — training, systems and procedures. Our chef team developed modern dishes and cocktails which have made 1931 Vancouver’s newest culinary destination.

Our brand team created the brand balancing the need to reference the Gallery’s history, with a focus on the future of the space. The blank canvas approach to the brand allows food offerings and special brand moments to shine in a fresh, hip, and flexible way. To avoid overcrowding and to accentuate quality for guests, clean and restrained collateral reference an airy exhibition experience.
